A weekend trip to the wilderness of Pennsylvania mountains

Hello My dear friends. How was your long weekend ?:)
I lazed around in the wilderness of the Pennsylvania mountains ..Alleghany mountain ranges to be more precise, walked along the rim of a Gorge(Grand canyon Of Pennsylvania!),Star gazed in one of the dark sky preserve ...yes ,there were these huge telescopes through which we saw the saturn(I could see the icy ring of saturn!!), the craters on the moon , countless stars , galaxies , milky way, shooting stars, spy sattelites , trust me the astronomer even pointed the ISS(International space station). One can google and find out all the satellites flight path on a particular zone.We saw all these and more some with our naked eyes and some through the telescope. It was one of a kind experience.Unfortunately I coud not take any Pictures as this area is designated as no white light zone..and hence no camera with flash:(

The setting sun at Cherryspring state Park..A dark sky preserve and a star gazer's heaven
The Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania

Wilderness with miles of rolling landscape dotted with charming country towns..

The Bed and breakfast we stayed in....a little piece of heaven

The landscape at Frosty Hollow B&B
Beautiful garden at the entrance of the cottage. The Inn keeper and his wife prepared a lovely breakfast for us in the morning.
It was a nice way to wind up or may be gear up for the weeks ahead.
You can hop on HERE to view some more pics and details of my trip :)

Thankyou all for sharing your thoughts today with me :)
It was a vacation of a different kind for sure. The B&B not only had the most comfy bed , but the breakfast was really good prepared by the inn keeper and his wife.
It was so quite at night that we could listen to the sound of silence!! ocassionally interupted by the howls of the coyote..
